Disaster Relief Through Communication

Helping Disaster Survivors Who Face Unique Challenges

Survivors are not a number or a statistic but real people who have suffered unimaginable loss; their lives have been turned upside down. They have lost loved ones, homes, businesses, and the ability to provide for themselves. They have lost their ability to control their lives and circumstances. Their days are full of stress and uncertainty. Stress relief and restoration of control comes through communication of their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs to those who can help.

Specialized Services for Disaster Survivors

DRC is a 501(c)(3) communications company focused on meeting the needs and addressing the unique challenges disaster survivors face. We use communication technology and one-on-one, face-to-face communication to help disaster survivors cope with their circumstances and rebuild their lives. We help restore a much-needed sense of control. We can't fix their problems but we can make the challenges they face easier to handle. No other disaster relief organization offers our unique combination of communication services.

Our Disaster Relief Services — A Quick Glance

We offer these disaster relief communication services free-of-charge to disaster survivors:

  • Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) to enable survivors to recognize and deal with the stress of their situation.

  • free use of the computers and Internet connection in our mobile Internet Cafe enabling disaster survivors to communicate with family and friends as well as coordinate relief with insurance companies and FEMA. This service is essential to restoring a survivor's much needed sense of control.
